Day 1: We travel to Scotland in style on board our luxury coach. We arrive at our hotel in Stirling where the evening will be yours to relax by the fire with a warming cuppa or to shake off the day’s travel with a whiskey at the bar.
Day 2: After a wholesome breakfast we will venture into Stirling. This is a wonderful historic city famous for Braveheart, William Wallace and the Battle of Bannockburn. You can spend the day wandering through the streets of the city where there will be plenty of opportunities for ice creams, afternoon teas or a trip to the pub! In the afternoon we will head over to the Bannockburn Battlefield, site of Scotland’s most famous victory over England.
Day 3: For day 3 of the tour we will visit and explore the majestic and unique city of Edinburgh, capital of Scotland and home to its parliament. There are opportunities to take in sights such as the Royal Mile, Princes Street, Arthurs seat and Murrayfield. For those visitors that wish to relax some more, there is also the option of visiting the zoo.
Day 4: After another scrumptious breakfast at our hotel we will leave Stirling and make our way West to Loch Lomond. Famous for the song “The Bonnie Banks o’ Loch Lomond” the Loch, or Lake, is the largest freshwater island in the British Isles. Home to countless species of wildlife, Loch Lomond is a fabulous destination that will leave you wanting to explore every nook and cranny. We will visit a number of beautiful spots around the lake and staying true to the song, we will have lunch upon its “Bonnie Bonnie Banks”.
Day 5: Another day for nature lovers. This time we switch the banks of Loch Lomond for the mountain tops of the Cairngorms National Park. Britain’s largest National Park, the Cairngorms are the most extensive range of high mountains in the UK, with a vast, tundra-like wilderness plateau, girt with magnificent corries, at the heart of the region. This is encircled by the beautiful valleys of the Rivers Spey and Dee, each passing through stunning landscapes of ancient Caledonian pinewoods teeming with wildlife. CairnGorm Mountain is home to the UK’s highest funicular railway and offers a range of activities such as guided walking and mountain biking should you choose to take part.
Day 6: After a final traditional Scottish Breakfast in our hotel we will set off on the journey home. Before we wave goodbye to Scotland we will stop off in some of the famous border towns to allow one final opportunity to fill your bags with memories of this marvellous place.
