Greece is for everyone

Greece: the birthplace of Western civilization

The Acropolis in Greece stands testament to ancient Greek architectureGreece is a country in southeastern Europe consisting of 2 mainland peninsulas and thousands of islands throughout the Aegean and Ionian seas.  It’s often called the birthplace of Western civilization, and Athens, its capital, retains ancient landmarks including the 5th-century-B.C.E.  Acropolis citadel and Parthenon temple.  Greece is also known for its beaches, from the black sands of Santorini to the party resorts of Mykonos.

Greece is a country of many interests and diverse cultures, influenced by its location, at the junction between the East and the West and by the many occupations of the Greek people throughout history.  In general, the Greeks are particularly proud of their culture and speak of their country with an intense passion, feeling that Greek culture is a definition of their national and ethnic belonging.  Traditions, religion, music, language, food and wines are the major composites of the Greek culture and constitute the base for those who wish to visit and understand today’s country.
