Day 1: Arrive in Lima, Peru
Welcome at Lima! You and your group will be picked up from the airport and transferred to your hotel. You will have the afternoon free to rest and acclimatize. Before dinner, we will have an introduction and briefing about your Peruvian adventure.

Day 2: Lima
Discover Lima on a guided city tour! Peru’s capital is a rich kaleidoscope of colonial architectural jewels, revered pre-Columbian sites, charming residential areas, and vibrant shopping districts perched over the blue Pacific. Visit the Rafael Larco Herrera Museum and see the largest private collection of pre-Colombian Peruvian art in the world. Our tour continues to the city’s neighborhoods along the Pacific coast.

Day 3: Lima – Cusco – Sacred Valley
Take a morning flight to Cusco (not included) and then drive to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We will check into the hotel and spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing from the day of travel. We will have an introduction to the Sacred Valley attractions later this evening.

Day 4: Sacred Valley
Visit 3 sites in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. First, the Maras Salt Mines and where you will see hundreds of stunning salt ponds from an accessible viewpoint. Then, a panoramic view of Moray, an Incan agricultural experimental center famous for its elliptical irrigation terraces. And finally, the remarkable fortress of Ollantaytambo, built by the Incas and where six huge rectangular monoliths (estimated weight: 50 tons) form the Temple of the Sun.

Day 5: Sacred Valley
Decode the mysteries of Andean Iconography through the weavings of the Yachaqs during a visit to the Amaru community. Members of the community will make us a traditional lunch before we depart for the colorful Pisac Market (mostly accessible.) We will also enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the Pisac Ruins.

Day 6: Sacred Valley – Aguas Calientes – Sacred Valley
Prepare for Machu Picchu! The day begins with a train through the Urubamba Valley or Sacred Valley of the Incas, to the fabulous mountaintop ruins of Machu Picchu. Machu Picchu was never discovered by the Spaniards. For centuries, it was buried in the jungle until Hiram Bingham found it in 1911. Upon arrival at the station, a private bus will transfer you to the top of the ruins where a guided tour will give you an idea of what the city must have looked like.

Day 7: Sacred Valley
After yesterday’s adventure to Machu Picchu, today is a day of leisure and relaxation.

Day 8: Sacred Valley – Cusco
We’ll visit the labyrinthine ruins of Qenqo (“zigzag”) & Puca Pucara (Red Fortress)
Enjoy a guided visit and picnic lunch nearby Sacsayhuaman (speckled falcon), the fortress above Cusco whose precise zigzags of massive stone remain unmoved after centuries.

Day 9: Cusco
Explore Cusco on a private city tour! The tour includes a visit to the Cathedral, considered the best repository of colonial art from the Cusco school. We’ll continue the circuit to Qoricancha (court of gold), also known as the “Temple of the Sun,” the religious and political center of Cusco during the Inca era.

Day 10: Cusco
Enjoy Cusco at your own pace with a day of leisure.

Day 11: Cusco – Lima
Transfer to the airport to board your flight to Lima (flight not included.) We can provide assistance to connect with your international flight.
