The European Union is for everyone
The European Union is a politico-economic union of 28 member states that are located primarily in Europe. It covers an area of 4,324,782 km, with an estimated population of over 508 million. The member states are: The United Kingdom, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, Germany, France, Austria, The Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Estonia, Ireland, Greece, Italy, Hungary, Luxembourg, Lithuania, Malta, Latvia, The Netherlands, Romania, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Slovenia, Sweden and Slovakia.
The EU was created in the aftermath of the Second World War. The first steps were to foster economic cooperation: the idea being that countries that trade with one another become economically interdependent and so more likely to avoid conflict.
The result was the European Economic Community (EEC), created in 1958, and initially increasing economic cooperation between six countries: Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. Since then, a huge single market has been created and continues to develop towards its full potential.
The aim of the European Union is to spread “peace, prosperity and freedom” among its combined citizens. The number of the combined citizens is approximately 500 million. This is a big area of the world to cover, but for the avid traveler, each of these spots is a destination in itself! We have some great accessible travel providers who are proud of their beautiful space in the world, and welcome everyone!
Our founder, Tarita Davenock knows disability firsthand and wants to show everyone that the world can still ‘be their oyster’. The truth is that the world is not perfectly accessible, there are still bumps in the road… What is spectacular about the world is that it was made to be seen by everyone; regardless of your mobility or ability. We work with a select group of suppliers with the same passions as ours. Choose where and when, and we will work hard at creating what your mind envisions…
